The Howbeck is only a 2-minute walk from the main village which has many shops and good restaurants and bistros. Windermere Steamboats and Museum and the market towns of Kendal and Keswick are amongst many things to visit in the area.
The Howbeck Guest House also has special arrangements with some local restaurants for its guests and can make reservations on their behalf.
Guests are offered a free 2-hour pass for use of the Old England Hotel’s swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room, which is just a 15-minute walk away. A 20% discount voucher is also available for guests wanting to book a spa treatment at the Old George.
